Lilli sat at the supper table with her father. She wanted to tell him her decision to marry her knight. He wanted her to marry the prince of Hautzenroeder. She didn't know how she would bring it up. Maybe if she straight out told him?

She took a bite of lamb and wither her mouth daintily with a cloth. She looked at him from across the table. Sir Helios was just on the other side of the door if she needed him. She was just scared of the reaction her father might have. He wasn't one to control his temper.

"Father, how are negotiations with Hautzenroeder going? I am afraid that I haven't heard anything as of late." She was going to work herself up to this. She was nervous enough.

He looked over at her and noticed that she was talking to her dad. He got nervous as well as she might be. He figured that if her dad didnt like that idea he would be thrown in the dungon and probably beheaded. But he kept his mind clear of all that and focused on his duty for tonight. He thought to himself "No matter what happens i wont show fear if The king stikes me but i dont know what ill do if he hits My Love"

Today's dinner was fabulous. Vedova's servant had really prepared a wonderful lamb meal tonight. He had outdone himself.

"Father, how are negotiations with Hautzenroeder going? I am afraid that I haven't heard anything as of late."

King Vedova sighed. "I'm afraid...Hautzenroeder is not far from waging war with my kingdom. Those dirty, nasty peasants!" Vedova pounded his fist on the table in rage, shaking all the plates. "They've rejected every negotiation I've made! I must say I might not be far from waging war MYSELF!" Those last words echoed around the room as Vedova's face looking at Lilli was filled with rage, his fist still on the table.

Lilli watched him as he lost his temper. The man frightened him sometimes. But he was family and she would love him anyways, no matter what happened.

"What negotiations have you sent to them?" SHe was curious. She had heard of a marraige proposal between her and thier prince. SHe wanted to confirm or reject the notion for her.

Princess Lilli asked what negotiations Vedova had sent. He lost is temper again. "Oh, I've sent everything imaginable! I've offered them land, men, for you to marry their prince, for both our countries to join together and form the most powerful of all, but they just won't take anything!" Vedova was furious now. If only Lilli hadn't started him up...

Father, you honestly don't believe that I would marry that man's son. They are rude and cruel. I wouldn't last a month in that country. She was beginning to get scared of her father's anger. She wasn't scared for her own safety. It was everyone else in the room.

"Lilli, it was just a proposal," Vedova said. His voice wasn't really angry anymore, but it certainly wasn't comforting or anything like that. "I'm sure you didn't want to marry him; I was just going to extremes to stop the war."

Father, may I tell you something without you becoming angry? She was jumping into the fires of hell with this.

He looks at her and sees fear in her eyes now know that she is asking her dad about him and if she can marry him

"Father, may I tell you something without you becoming angry?"

"Sure...what, does it have to do with this marriage proposal thing?"

He over hears that she mention something aboyt marrying someone

No, it wasn't possible. It couldn't be! Sure, he had offered her to marry, but he would never have thought...no! Definitely not!

"You...no, you can't!"

She stared at him. Why not? You just said you offered my hand in marraige. Why can't I marry whom choose?

He sees that the king is getting angery

She can't choose who she marries! She just...can't! Vedova would be the one who chose who she married! But she was an individual with her own thoughts and feelings...but Vedova was her father! But...no...he had to let her...

Vedova sighed. "Erm...I- I...go ahead."

She stared at him in shock. You will allow it? I did not think that you would relent so easily.

He stares at them not knowing of what they are saying

"I...you're right. You can't marry this man until I see him myself!"

"Really? Is he here...right now?"

She smiled. "Yes."

"Which one is he?"

She smiled. "Daddy. I have known him for seven years. And if you put him in the dungeon, I will hate you forever."

"Okay. But who is he?"

"Sir Helios, father. You appointed him my knight by my request."

"Ah, Helios. You have my permission."

"Really? I thought you would threaten to behead him or throw one of us in the dungeons or even a mixture of both."

"No. Now stop questioning my permission, before I do."

"Thank you Daddy." She said before going to him and giving him a big hug. "You have just made me happy beyond reason."
